Fron Family DNA and Surname Projects

The Fron Family has a devoted DNA surname reconstruction project at FTDNA: Fron Family Affiliate Branches @ FTDNA. The project group serves a two-fold purpose, that of collecting the DNA from any and all Fron Family members by surname, but also from all of the collateral branches. As we bring the Fron surname up to date with the latest in technology, science has given us a helpful avenue by which we can begin to narrow down the Fron possibilities as a collaborative team effort. It has now become a necessity to focus on the genealogical aspect via the genetics. Please join the group, order your test (feel free to contact us to consult on your test options), and send in any and all documentation, records, copies of bible pages, an your family group data as conveniently as possible.

The Fron Family DNA project looks at all names in the family, just to name a few: Antonczenko, Blancher, Brooks, Butler, Dudko, Ford, Freeman, FRON, Gentry, Gist, Hardin, Houdema, Jones, Kalynyczenko, Kowalchuk, Krecek, Laird, Lopo, Melnyk, Miller, Morris, Ogorzalek, Penn, Philpott, Pryzychocki, Semchuk, Sims, Skotnicki, Thompson, Watkins, Williams (please log in to the family tree to see the exhaustive full list).

Fron Family DNA Project Goals:
An all branch effort to unify the affiliated ancestral and descendant family branches in common through genetic testing.

To identify the original names of the key branches (FRON) in common that have been historically altered due to political and wartime necessity and are unknown to all living descendants.

To provide an avenue for all family members to more easily share information, research, and genetic data amongst each other and reduce redundant efforts.

To further family genealogical research by confirming and disproving frail paper trails with scientific genetic evidence to support or refute existing data.

To consolidate currently known genetic data and encourage advanced testing, with an emphasis on family elders.

To further contribute to the scientific field of genetics where possible, as a cohesive family unit.

Guild of One-Name Studies. The Guild closed out 2017 by approving the FRON One-Name Study (After clicking, scroll down to Fron). This study allows us to be the portal for the surname Fron and acts as a repository for our information and data collection. The overall goal is to be able to not only follow our genealogical history, but etermine the origins, the geographical name distribution, the frequency in how often the surname "Fron" appears, among other historical items of note.

As our data collects, we will begin to compile the data, as well as our DNA results for an overarching history and deep analysis of the Fron surname around the globe. The Fron One-Name Study further complements the individual goals of the DNA project an has the potential to further boath aims by supplementary the traditional genealogicl paper trail with it's genetic genealogy counterpart (which requires all of us to progress in our family history and knowledge.
